Distress Embossing Powders
Many of us know how to use embossing powders but using the Tim Holtz Distress Powders are a step up on how to introduce tactile character to your projects. They can be used on top of all pigment inks and other embossing ink types such as Perfect Medium and Versamark. Below you will find a quick 3 step photo shoot of how distress powders look and work. At Scrapbook Designs we stock all the colours of the full Tim Holtz Distress Range of products.
STEP 1:Stamp your image with a pigment ink and apply Distress Powder just like you would “normal embossing powder”. Pour excess powder back in vial.
STEP 2:Heat set your Distress Powder just like you would “normal embossing powder”. You will see the colour change. When cooled, gently rub on the powder to “release” some of the powder that will reveal a distressed look.
STEP 3:The finished texture of the Distres Embossing Powders is grainy, almost like a fine sand has been used. Of course it is similar to any other embossing powder in nature. This means it will not fall off your project as it is permanently adhered to it during the heating process.
